Editorial


Katherine Parsons, Founder and Editor. Katherine founded The Passionfruit Review in 2022. She is a PhD candidate in contemporary literature, an associate editor for Wildfire Words, and recently served as a reader for Frontier Poetry. Her own poems have been published in online and print journals (recently including Underwood Press, Evocations Review, The Oakland Review, and The High Window), and her pamphlet, Little Intimacy, won Frosted Fire’s ‘New Voices’ competition and was published in 2022.

Michael Parsons, Associate Editor. Michael is a published poet, having come to writing poetry later in life. He enjoys the discipline. He is fascinated by words, imagery and the universal sense that personal writing may prompt. He worked in publishing for nearly ten years after an academic career.

Minnie Wu, Reader. Minnie is a high school junior at The Pennington School. Her poetry and prose have been published in SWWIM Every Day, Blue Marble Review, Pennyroyal, Teen Ink, and other literary magazines. Minnie participated in the 2023 Iowa Young Writers Studio Summer Residential Program and the 2024 Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program. In the 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, she was recognized as a Gold Key recipient and a Gold Medalist for her poetry and photography. Minnie loves spending time with her pets and enjoys watching K-dramas.

Amlanjyoti Goswami, Guest Editor – Passionfruit Poetry 2023. Amlanjyoti Goswami’s new book of poetry, Vital Signs (Poetrywala) follows his widely reviewed collection, River Wedding (Poetrywala). Published in journals and anthologies across the world, including Poetry, The Poetry Review, Penguin Vintage, Rattle and Sahitya Akademi, he is also a Best of the Net and Pushcart nominee. His work has appeared on street walls of Christchurch, buses in Philadelphia, exhibitions in Johannesburg and an e-gallery in Brighton. He has reviewed poetry for Modern Poetry in Translation and Review 31. He also translates poetry from Assamese into English and has read at various places, including New York, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Boston and Delhi. He grew up in Guwahati, Assam and lives in Delhi.

Sheila E. Murphy, Guest EditorLove and Loss 2025. Sheila E. Murphy’s Escritoire will appear from Lavender Ink in 2025. Her most recent books are Permission to Relax (BlazeVOX, 2023), October Sequence: Sections 1-51 (mOnocle-Lash Anti-Press, 2023), Sostenuto (Luna Bisonte Prods (2023) and Golden Milk (Luna Bisonte Prods, 2020). She won the Gertrude Stein award for her book Letters to Unfinished JReporting Live From You Know Where won the Hay(na)ku Book Prize from Meritage Press. Murphy has authored 45 books of poetry.

Riley O’Connell, Guest Editor In Conversation 2024. Riley O’Connell has been published in PlainsongsNot Very QuietPink Panther MagazineMaking WavesEvocations Review, and The Santa Clara Review, the last of which she later served as Editor in Chief. She is currently an Editor for Colossus Press’s reproductive justice anthology, Colossus:Body. Twenty-five and living in the Bay Area, she writes primarily about womanhood, grief, love, and dogs.

Aaron Poochigian, Guest Editor – Passionfruit Poetry 2024. Aaron Poochigian earned a PhD in Classics from the University of Minnesota and an MFA in Poetry from Columbia University. His latest collection, American Divine, winner of the Richard Wilbur Award, came out in 2021. His work has appeared in Best American Poetry, The Paris Review and POETRY.

John L. Stanizzi, Guest EditorBeing in Bodies 2024. John L. Stanizzi is the author of fourteen books: Ecstasy Among Ghosts, Sleepwalking, Dance Against the Wall, After the Bell, Hallelujah Time, High Tide-Ebb Tide, Chants, Four Bits, Sundowning, The Tree that Lights the Way Home, POND, Feathers and Bones, Viper Brain and SEE. His nonfiction can be found in Literature and BeliefStone Coast Review, Potato Soup Review, After the Pause, Adelaide, Metaworker, and many others. In 2021 he received a Creative Writing-Non-Fiction Fellowship from Connecticut’s Commission on the Arts, Culture, and Diversity, and also in 2021, Potato Soup named his story Pants best of 2021, and included it in their anthology of several years of outstanding short non-fiction.
