Passionfruit

The history of literature is a history of passion. Since its earliest iterations – in every age, from every corner of the world – language has been used to express, examine, and explore the human heart. The Passionfruit Review is a celebration of this: an online journal committed to making a home for love poetry.

Passionfruit seeks work which engages with love in the broadest possible sense: writing which seeks love out or runs screaming from it; which delights in, is bored of, resents, yearns for, abhors, or denies love.

We want to see ‘love poetry’ thrown wide open and to stretch our understanding of this age-old genre. We therefore publish poems which are easily recognised as love poetry alongside pieces which sit less comfortably here.

Every issue is primarily devoted to poetry, although there is always space for prose, short fiction and other creative pieces.

Publication is monthly through 2026. Submissions are always free, always open.

Exciting News!

After three years and 30 issues of The Passionfruit Review, we are beyond thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Review’s sister press. We opened our first call for submissions in April-May 2026 and will publish our first title in Spring 2027, with initial scope for publishing two books per year.

Thank you to all those who submitted to our first call for chapbook manuscripts. We are excited to read them all and will be in touch to let you know whether or not we will be moving forward with your manuscript.

We will reopen for chapbook submissions in October 2026. For more information, click here.
