‘Overcast’ by Jhoanna Parvati

Overcast

I cannot feel the sun
in me today and when I am sad
like this

I eat mangoes in the shower
abandon
clothes

let the peels fall

loves me,
                loves me not

let the juice slide
between my fingers
down
my arms
shower like rain
down
my hair,
eyes,
breasts,
yellow and sticky like a hunger
I cannot deny

I am sinking my fingers
on this fruity flesh that want to slip off my grip

until the rain becomes storm a roar
of water
and I am ravenous
for this flesh
I still have

loves me,
            loves me,
                        loves me
