Daniel Naawenkangua Abukuri (he/him) is a Black poet and prose writer from Ghana. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Transition Magazine, The Malahat Review, Colorado Review, Chestnut Review, Orion Magazine, Protean Magazine, Berkeley Poetry Review, Mantis, The Literary Times, and elsewhere. He is a Best of the Net, Pushcart Prize, and BREW Poetry Award nominee; first place winner of the African Writers Award (Poetry); winner of Poetry Archive Now Wordview 2025; and a finalist for the 2025 Adinkra Poetry Prize. He was recently longlisted for the Renard Press Poetry Prize, named an Obsidian Foundation Fellow, and selected to read at the Obsidian Poetry Showcase with The Poetry Society.
