Blue Supermoon
From our soft crater, we watch
the moon float between two trees.
Pregnant and looming
she draws us to her glow.
I trip over my feet,
tumble towards the shore.
Grass then, overlapping roots, cement,
rock, and finally ocean.
Under this sky
your silhouette attaches itself to mine.
The broken Atlantic glimmers under moon shards.
We are watching alchemy
and with each passing minute, the water draws
closer.
Careful.
We can almost touch it now.
