Organic Affirmations
Your rough focus
is the fungi of my spine.
When you burst out,
my soles suck inward as trumpets.
Leaves melt, but our warmth
splits into bouquet.
Your metaphors recur
like a labyrinth dahlia.
We will heal-all
in formal questions.
What can be known
hides in your burrs,
the browns, oranges,
& herb-of-grace.
Primal Speech
Brown turns
gold, folds pink,
froths white,
bends blue,
grasps green:
primal speech
in the marsh.
It’s hard to know
our place here,
but all the marsh
knows our shape,
color, & sound.
We lounge w/ reeds
like a shock of skin.
