If I say I\u2019ve got enough on my\nplate, she\u2019ll think I\u2019d like to scrape it clean\u2014\nunload her mood swings & her messes.\nDrop her on a curb somewhere\u2014tagless,\nuncollared\u2014and drive away.\nI just can\u2019t.\nBut I don\u2019t know how to tell my daughter\nmy heart only can stretch so far without snapping.\nFar enough for her, but not for you,\nyou bedroom-eyed burden with your dark-wet\nmouth. Falling\nfrom symmetry and sense, if\n\u00a0\nit weren\u2019t so confined\n\u2014as seen through your mother.\n\u00a0\nAnd what\u2019s left around here?
