‘Ekaggatā’ by Sam Gluck

Ekaggatā

in the morning
close your eyes

see the sun rise
in the changing hue

of the colour
beneath your eyelids

sit
with yourself only

and in the pause
between each breath

feel as all comes within you
to still

observe with the pointed mind
a whisper of light

crackle in the vastness
of your space

and knots tied in the lace
of moments unwound

but do not reach out
to pull on them

as though a mess
to be straightened

rather feel in them
a heavy doubt

and reluctance
to just be

then
let them be
