Adhesion
To Sandrinette, who separated herself from the ooze of sentimentality.
Binding: tremors held in lacquer, mouth oh’ing forever,
the throat’s catch-moan archived with fervor,
the shout interior, the sigh repeated yet unfinished.
Comfrey, ash, and clove, accents of passion,
the scent alloyed by the heat-wake of the diver’s plunge,
a thick, raw splice of joy, immobile in the glue,
tung-oil and egg-white,
wrapped in the skin of a fish for all seasons.
Binding: mauve smudges in the mind,
a pale garnet bubble suspended in glass,
rose-chalk on laid paper, the tooth of which grips
unless off-rubbed.
