‘My Sleep Hacks Capitalism…’ by Lindi Dedek

My Sleep Hacks Capitalism by Futile Artistic Aspirations

stuck in imaginary 5 to 9                                                            with endless overtimes
waking with sun                                                             checking apps on night saving
having ideas                                                                      about nothing to write about
writing twice                              as much                                                            for half

placing the moment i become critically aware economic subject
in the great period of inflation

taking the concept of muse                                        as critical transgressive practice
harvesting my insecurities towards her
shamelessly cheering her up
                                      in her sleep
waiting till she reads about herself in poem here making her mind go hmm
planting another self-doubt so strong it will occur in both our minds simultaneously

Writing as many metaphors                                   waking up with half of the best one

Embodying my dreams                                                  writing through them
putting phone to sleep                                           again again again again

Publishing a collection                                              on notes
for all my iphone ancestors                                          the project collapsing on not knowing                                                                   how to call it
considering untitled
without the italics
lazy like my next best dead poet
 not getting away with it
it’s not 19th century and i’m not that masculine

(staying awake                                            making the commitment
 sleeping
not knowing if this compensates)

Falling asleep seven minutes before alarm clock
in my new life as aspirational morning poet
emerging as an exceeded narrative as a tortured artist

no sleep for either
